Railroad safety is always an important topic, and Watco team members often visit classrooms to educate students on how to stay safe around tracks and trains.

Making a Difference

At Watco, we are big believers in giving back. We strive to make a significant difference in the communities where we live and work.

During the holidays, Watco team members support the community by participating in events such as Toys for Tots, Adopt-a-Family, and food drives to help families in need.

Community Giving

We’re constantly looking for ways to be good neighbors in the thousands of communities we serve across North America and Australia.

Our team members are the heart of our community commitment. Our team is culturally and geographically diverse, and we represent a vast array of communities from small towns to big cities — each with unique needs. Watco is proud to partner with our team members to help identify the critical needs of the communities where our team members and Watco retirees make their homes.

Volunteerism

Our team members make our communities stronger. We take time out to volunteer, helping worthy causes and building relationships within the community. Volunteer opportunities not only give us a chance to help others, but also build relationships with one another.

Watco team members attend Career Days at local schools to discuss railroading and jobs in the transportation industry.

Dependent Scholarships

Watco is committed to education and training. Each year, Watco awards college scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are eligible dependents of Watco team members. Applications will be accepted February 1, 2025, through March 31, 2025.
